There is a chord that comes from the Father in heaven. It is a chord of life. It is where thought is joined to emotion. It is where spirit is joined to the soul. It is where faith is joined with promise. It is where the created is joined with the Creator. There is life in this chord that comes from God the Father of our Lord Jesus. Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding come from this chord. Be connected with God through Christ by faith in him, and you will be found woven into this chord of life.
There is a famous writing from a man named Isaiah, a prophet. He heard the voice of the Lord and it is recorded in the book of Isaiah. “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31, NKJV). What is it to wait on the Lord?
Wait on the Lord is to have your heart, mind, and will woven into the Creator, and not the creation. The picture of “wait” is that of a rope; a woven rope. We are a small strand in the mighty rope that is the Lord. Isaiah shows God’s character is matchless. His love is that of a caring shepherd. He is not limited by time, or things to large for us to comprehend. The measure of heaven; the dust of the earth; the weight of a mountain are all within his grasp, He speaks comfort. He has shed his own blood; his very life that we could be found blameless before him.
Our lives are limited, yet he is the way to eternal life. This chord really does lift us up with wings like an eagle. We can go forward to run and walk with him. Despair, dismay; the weary life is made new with him. Its knowing him by his word in the Bible, His Spirit and power; prayer; and worshiping him that we wait on him. We act on what he has revealed in his word and we give an account of what He has done in our lives. That is our witness and testimony.
